ABSTRACT
This website discusses the rap music scene within the German-Turkish community of Germany. Hip-hop and rap in German society function to establish a unique subculture that allows German-Turks to express their feelings regarding their unique binational identities, racism, and prejudice while achieving acclaim and establishing positions of power within the music industry. This website explores the history of Turkish migrants in Germany, its impacts upon the evolution of the rap scene, the ways in which music serves to assist in establishing a binational identity, and the relationship between German-Turkish music and power.
